What is a facelift
If you are considering a facelift
A facelift, known as rhytidectomy, improves the most visible signs of aging in the face and neck by removing excess fat, repositioning fallen fat pads, tightening the underlying muscles, and redraping the skin.
Dr. Hosn completed specialized training in aesthetic facial surgery and blends surgical precision with an artistic eye for natural results. A full facelift addresses the cheeks, jowls, and neck. A lower facelift focuses on the jowls and neck. Incision placement is decided around your individual features.
Are you a candidate?
The best candidate for a facelift is a man or woman in good health whose face and neck have begun to sag but whose skin still has some elasticity. Most patients are between 45 and 65, though healthy patients in their seventies and eighties benefit from the procedure as well.
What to expect
A facelift usually takes four to six hours, under local anesthesia with sedation or under general anesthesia depending on the plan, and is usually performed on an outpatient basis.
Dr. Hosn removes excess fat, repositions fallen fat pads, tightens the underlying muscles, and redrapes the skin, placing incisions around your individual facial features. The aim throughout is a face that looks rested rather than pulled. Most patients are ready to be seen in public at about fourteen days, resume light activity between two and three weeks, and return to strenuous exercise between four and six weeks, with final results settling over three to six months as swelling fully resolves.

Planning your consultation
In your initial consultation, Dr. Hosn will spend the time needed to understand your goals, perform a complete examination, and make recommendations tailored to your anatomy. Our office is committed to educating every patient on the risks, benefits, and alternatives of this procedure.
The typical patient meets with Dr. Hosn three times before proceeding with any major procedure, ensuring expectations are clearly defined and the plan is right for you before any commitment is made.
