What are injectables

Laugh lines, smile lines, crow’s feet, and facial creases develop over time from facial movement and sun exposure. Neuromodulators such as Botox and Daxxify relax the muscles behind that movement, softening the lines that result from facial animation. They are most often used on:
- Forehead lines
- Frown lines between the eyebrows
- Crow’s feet
- Bunny lines and other expression lines
Soft-tissue fillers work differently. Hyaluronic acid products such as RHA Redensity and Juvederm restore volume and fill creases directly rather than relaxing the muscle. They are used to:
- Restore lost volume in the cheeks and temples
- Smooth nasolabial folds and marionette lines
- Add volume and definition to the lips
- Improve hollowing under the eyes
Many patients use both, because they solve different problems. Injectables also work well alongside surgery, either as a lighter first step or to maintain and extend the result of a facial procedure.

Injectables suit healthy adults bothered by lines that appear when the face moves, or by creases that have settled in and stay visible at rest. Which product fits depends on which of those two you are actually looking at.
What to expect
Treatment usually takes fifteen to forty-five minutes and is performed in the office, with no anesthetic or a local depending on what is being treated and where.
Recovery is minimal. Temporary swelling and occasional bruising are the most common effects, and most patients carry on with their day straight afterwards. Results from Botox and Daxxify appear within three to seven days and last three to four months or more. Filler results are visible immediately and last six to eighteen months depending on the product and the area treated. Both are maintained with repeat treatment rather than being permanent.
