What is arm reduction
If you are considering arm reduction
Arm reduction reduces the size of the upper arm and improves its contour. It treats the part of the arm between the elbow and the shoulder, the area that stays heavy or full after weight loss and does not respond to training.
There are two routes, and which one applies depends on what is actually causing the problem. Where the issue is fat and the skin still has good elasticity, liposuction alone can reshape the arm through small incisions. Where the skin itself has stretched, usually after significant weight loss or with age, fat removal on its own leaves the arm looking deflated. Removing skin is what changes the shape, and that means an incision along the inner arm.

The consultation is where that call gets made. Dr. Hosn will assess how much of the fullness is fat and how much is skin, and tell you plainly which route will give you the result you are describing, including when the answer is a combination of the two.
What to expect
Where the plan is liposuction alone, the procedure is performed through small incisions and can be done under local anesthetic, IV sedation or general anesthesia. Where skin is being removed, the operation is longer and the anesthetic and recovery differ. Dr. Hosn will give you the specifics for your own plan at consultation rather than a range that may not apply to you.
Swelling settles over the first weeks and the arm continues to refine for months afterwards. A compression garment is worn during early healing. If skin has been removed, the scar goes through a red and raised phase before it softens and fades, and that process runs over a year rather than a few weeks.

In your initial consultation, Dr. Hosn will spend the time needed to understand what is bothering you, perform a complete examination, assess your skin quality, and explain which technique will actually get you there.
Arm reduction is one of the procedures where the honest answer is sometimes the less appealing one. If liposuction alone will not give you the arm you are describing, Dr. Hosn will say so, and explain what removing skin involves before you decide.

Every plastic surgery procedure is performed by Dr. Hosn himself, in an accredited outpatient surgical center, with the same standard applied whether it is a fifteen-minute injectable or a five-hour abdominoplasty.
