What is body contouring
If you are considering liposuction
Liposuction is a surgical procedure that helps sculpt the body by removing unwanted fat from areas that have stopped responding to diet and exercise. It is performed through small, strategically placed incisions using a thin tube called a cannula to remove fat through suction.
Commonly treated areas include:
- Abdomen and waist
- Hips and flanks, often called love handles
- Thighs and knees
- Arms
- Back and chest
- Neck and chin
It is most effective in areas where the skin will contract after fat removal. Liposuction removes fat well, but it does not tighten loose skin, repair separated abdominal muscles, or improve cellulite. Where those are part of the picture, Dr. Hosn will often recommend combining liposuction with a procedure such as abdominoplasty rather than treating the fat alone.
Dr. Hosn approaches contouring as sculpture rather than removal. He uses advanced techniques to refine the areas that bother you while protecting the transitions between them and the quality of the skin above, so the result reads as a natural shape rather than a treated one.
Are you a candidate?
The best candidates for liposuction are healthy patients at or near their goal weight, with firm and elastic skin and localized areas of excess fat. Age is not the primary factor, however patients with diminished skin elasticity may achieve less skin retraction than younger patients.
What to expect
Liposuction typically takes one to four hours depending on the areas being treated. It is performed through small incisions using a cannula to remove fat through suction. The procedure does not address excess skin, lax muscles, or cellulite.
Results continue to improve for up to twelve months as swelling resolves and tissues settle. Most patients return to light activities within two weeks and resume full activity after six weeks or more.

Planning your consultation
In your initial consultation, Dr. Hosn will spend the time needed to understand your goals, perform a complete examination, and make recommendations tailored to your anatomy. Our office is committed to educating every patient on the risks, benefits, and alternatives of this procedure.
The typical patient meets with Dr. Hosn three times before proceeding with any major procedure, ensuring expectations are clearly defined and the plan is right for you before any commitment is made.

Size, shape and position are three separate questions. The consultation is where you work out which one you are asking.
Body
For contour that diet and training have stopped changing, usually after pregnancy or significant weight loss.
Skin
The daily work that decides how the surgical work ages. Medical-grade formulations, prescribed rather than picked off a shelf.
